Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Smart Bowling. By creating an account, continuing as a guest, or using the app, you accept them.
Who can use the app
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details private. Guest accounts live on one device; create a full account to keep your data if you change phones. Tell us right away if you think your account has been used without permission.
What the app does, and does not, promise
The app gives drilling layouts, surface suggestions, ball recommendations, and live-session adjustments based on the numbers you enter and public bowling-industry models. These are informational suggestions, not professional advice.
Drilling is permanent. Before anyone drills a ball, have a qualified pro shop confirm the layout against your measured positive axis point and the ball manufacturer's guidance. We are not responsible for equipment drilled, sanded, polished, or otherwise modified based on the app's output.
Ball specifications in the catalog come from manufacturer publications and community sources and may contain errors. Verify specs before relying on them.
Lane, humidity, and tracking data are estimates. Camera-based tracking depends on lighting, camera placement, and lane conditions.
Professional use
Pro shops and their staff may use the app to view a bowler's numbers, fit specifications, arsenal, and the layouts the app recommends for that bowler. The app's output is a recommendation. The drilling professional verifies fit and layout against their own measurements and the manufacturer's guidance, decides what is drilled, and remains responsible for the work. We are not liable for equipment drilled, plugged, sanded, or otherwise modified by a professional relying on the app.
A shop account binds the shop and everyone using it to these terms. Manufacturers and their representatives who submit ball specifications through the app grant Smart Bowling a license to use those specifications in the catalog and in recommendations.
Competition rules
You are responsible for following the rules of any league, tournament, or governing body you bowl in, including rules on when a ball's surface may be altered. The app's reminders about those rules are a convenience, not a guarantee of compliance.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- Use the app to break a law or a competition rule.
- Try to access another person's account or data.
- Copy, scrape, or redistribute the ball catalog or the app's recommendation logic.
- Interfere with the app's services or security.
Your content
You own the data you enter. You give us permission to store and process it so the app can work for you. If you share your arsenal by QR code, you are choosing to show that information to whoever scans it.
Our content
The app, its design, and its recommendation engine belong to Smart Bowling and are protected by copyright and other laws. Ball and pattern names belong to their manufacturers and are used to identify products only.
Ending your account
You can delete your account in Profile at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Sections about disclaimers, liability, and governing law survive termination.
Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise the app will be accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Smart Bowling is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost equipment, or lost winnings, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or 50 US dollars. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled informally will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Jefferson County or Shelby County, Alabama, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing, email us and we will try to resolve the issue within 30 days.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will update the effective date and show a notice in the app. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.
